Carole Fish
I always thought she was someone very special. I loved her smile and she was always kind and thoughtful to everyone. I’m sure she’ll be missed.
tribute by Joann MYDSKE KochoffI am heartbroken.
tribute by Julie Lundstead HelmickCarole and I, as 14 year olds, spent the summer of 1962 together as boy and girlfriend and bussing from Crown Hill to the World's Fair, or walking to Carkeek Park or building an evening blaze on North Beach with discarded railroad ties. That first crush lasted a lifetime, and though we were never after that early time a formal couple, we remained close friends until her oldest son let me know last August, 2023, that she was gone. Her grave remains close to where we used to catch the bus to the Century 21 Fair, at Crown Hill Cemetery. My heart goes out to her husband, boys and grandkids. The next class of '66 reunion will have me still reflexively looking over the room to find her face.
